LoveSkar started with a simple idea: A heart can heal and still stay open.
The heart with a band-aid is more than a logo. It represents honesty, acceptance, and the reminder that being diagnosed with herpes does not make someone less worthy of love.
We created LoveSkar because too many people feel alone after diagnosis. Not because they need another medical explanation — but because they need someone to say:
“You are still you. Your story is not over.”
I’m not a doctor. I’m not a therapist. I’m the person who tells you the thing your group chat won’t: you’re going to be fine, this is more common than you think, and no, you don’t have to disappear from dating forever.
I started LoveSkar because I got tired of watching smart, kind, funny people talk themselves out of love over a skin condition that a huge chunk of adults quietly share. This isn’t a support group in the sad, folding-chairs-in-a-church-basement sense. It’s a place to laugh, vent, ask the awkward questions, and eventually meet people in real life who already get it.
LoveSkar is a nonprofit community for people navigating dating, disclosure, mental health, and life with genital herpes. We are here to make the hard parts feel less lonely, less shameful, and a lot more human. No fear. No weird silence. No pretending this is the end of your love life. Just real support from people who get it.
Pushing back on stigma, in dating culture and in healthcare
Because the emotional side of an HSV diagnosis is often harder than the physical side, and it deserves real attention
Eventually, local meetups in small communities, so this isn’t just a screen-lit conversation
The LoveSkar symbol combines a heart and a gentle bandage to represent healing, acceptance, and quiet strength.
It is not about being broken. It is about remembering that everyone has a story, and no one should have to carry it alone.
A subtle way to connect without saying a word.
Instant understanding, no explanations needed.
Your voice shapes everything we create.
Discreet, stylish, and made for everyday life.
At LoveSkar, everything we do is guided by a simple purpose: to create a world where people feel seen, supported, and never alone.
Create a space where people
feel supported, understood,
and welcomed.
Make difficult conversations feel softer, safer, and more human.
Help people feel proud of who they are beyond any diagnosis or story.
Turn quiet symbols into meaningful moments of recognition and support.
